My name is Stelios Koptsas, and I am an Sports Scientist, Triathlon Coach, and Strength & Conditioning Coach. My coaching philosophy is rooted in bridging the gap between academic research, sports science, and real-world application—aimed at optimizing athletic performance, reducing injury risk, and fostering long-term athletic development. Education & Expertise B.Sc. in Physical Education and Sport Science (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens). M.Sc. in Sports Science and Data Intelligence in High Performance Sports (Sports Data Campus / UCAM) – Specializing in sports performance analytics, data-driven methodology, and the integration of modern technology into athletic preparation. Continuous focus on exercise physiology, evidence-based fueling strategies for endurance sports (carbohydrate & nitrate loading protocols), and athletic strength development. Coaching Philosophy Whether working with an endurance athlete preparing for triathlon events (from Sprint to Half-Ironman/Ironman distances) or an individual aiming to build functional strength and physical fitness, my approach is strictly personalized and data-informed: 1. Data-Driven Programming: Utilizing performance metrics (FTP, Power-to-Weight ratios, SWOLF, Heart Rate Zones) to carefully monitor progression, manage training loads, and optimize recovery. 2. Targeted Strength Training: Integrating strength and conditioning with endurance demands to enhance running and cycling economy while building musculoskeletal durability. 3. Practitioner's Mindset: As an active triathlete myself, I understand the physical and mental demands of multisport training firsthand, allowing me to connect deeply with the athletes I coach.
